Soft boiled eggs are the perfect quick and easy breakfast you can enjoy before starting your day. Here is the step-by-step walkthrough to make perfect soft boiled eggs, every time!
Prep Time: 1 minute
Cooking Time: 6 minutes
To begin, get a pot big enough to hold as many eggs as you are preparing.
Fill the pot with enough water to adequately covers the tops of the eggs.
Place your filled pot onto your stove. Set the stove to High to quickly get the water boiling.
Once the water has reached a complete boil, place the eggs into the boiling water using a spoon or something similar so you don’t burn your fingers. Be careful not to break the eggs on the bottom of the pot or against the other eggs. (It’s ok if the shells break, it just means you’ll have less to eat when they’re done.)
Set your egg timer to 6 minutes.
You can adjust the heat as necessary, just ensure that the water continues to boil throughout the 6 minutes.
Once the timer is up remove the eggs from the stove top and run cold water over the eggs to shock them and keep the eggs from cooking themselves from the inside out. The eggs should still be warm to the touch even after you’ve run cold water over them. (Don’t forget to turn the stove off.)
Peel your cooked eggs, add some salt and pepper, and enjoy!
